Being in Australia for the third year, finally I decided to visit the sister country of Australia, New Zealand!!

According to my mum, whenever I travel, it will never be smooth and calm... i will definitely meet with some obstacles.... even a simple thing like booking a flight ticket could be an obstacle for me.. haiz... Anyway, I booked Air NZ from Brisbane to Christchurch reaching there around 12am.

my flight meal - with a bottle of red wine

The one who should fetch me is Wong Choon Seng but in the end, my honey and Eric came because the conscienceless Mr Wong overslept and forgot to fetch me!! Hng!!

Day 1 in Christchurch

Visiting university of the area is compulsory for my trip, so we decided to visit University of Canterbury early in the morning.

i love this scenery... botak trees~ hehe..

After visiting the University of Canterbury, it's time to visit the Christchurch city!! The largest city in New Zealand South Island. It is a city designed and built by the English colonialists, building a large number of Neo-Gothic style buildings. The very center of the building is the Cathedral Square and one of the most visited church buildings in Christchurch is the Christchurch Cathedral.

Had a Korean style lunch in the city

This 18m sculpture with 42 leaves as design to feature the different native plants of the country was built to commemorate the new millineum and 150th Anniversary of the foundation of the city.

The Christchurch Cathedral is a building with Gothic architecture and sitting at right center of the city. Visiting the Anglican Cathedral is free but will need to pay a small amount of compulsory 'donation' to climb 134 steps up to the top of Cathedral North Tower.

the Anglican Cathedral (free entry)
The environment here was calm and serene.

we can buy a recognition cert from the Gift shop, if we want...

Views from the top of the Cathedral:

the founder of Christchurch and Canterbury.

破坏公物!!!

Canterbury Musuem, one of the finest historic buildings in NZ.
It was closed when we reached... so too bad, we can't enter...

The Christchurch Art Gallery

Locating in front of Worcester Boulevard is the Christchurch Arts Centre, the former University of Canterbury. Observing the building, it represented the Gothic Revival architecture of NZ among other examples available in the country.

A pretty attractive fountain found in the Christchurch Botanic Garden.
The Christchurch Botanic Garden was not closed but it was too dark to see any flowers, so we left the garden and proceed to the historical arch..

Bridge of Remembrance

After having dinner in one of the Malaysian restaurant, we walk around the city before going back home to plan our North Island Trip!! Oh, also bought a prepaid sim card from NZ...

a good way of parking bikes i guess..

Together with Ting Feng from Sydney, we visited the famous Sumner Beach after having lunch. The stretching of the beach with the random assortment of rocks forms one of the most picturesque beach in Christchurch. Having a stroll along the beach, looking at kids playing water and swimming safely in the sea also makes this beautiful beach one of the most famous beach in Christchurch.

the cavern formed at a protruded volcanic stone due to the erosion of sea water

By the time we finally enough of walking along the beach admiring the scenery, it's already evening and we realised we were late for the movie appointment with Eric. So we went for groceries shopping preparing for the North Island Trip!! Excited~~~~

Decided to have a gracious dinner at Fiasco's Steakhouse of Morrison Hotel, which claimed to have best steak in Brisbane..

*though i don't eat steak...

Tried it's famous entree, 60 second calamari:

(calamari with chili blueberry dipping sauce)

My dinner, Morrison Parmigiana:
(Chicken breast pocketed with bacon and cheese, served with Caesar salad and wedges.)

* i love the salad!

Also, celebrated Sing King and my birthday in advance!!
since most of us will not be in Brisbane during July...

oh, let's make a wish!

Group photos:

the guy up left is the cute waiter who served us
and the note by him to wish us:

Those who knows me well will know that I will not have breakfast during weekends/holidays, why? because i will sleep till lunch time.. unhealthy? nvm la!

So the day after my exams, surprisingly, i wake up VERY early for breakfast!!

Gunshop Cafe

The Australian Cafe of the Year 2010, also the best breakfast restaurant in Brisbane for 2008 and 2009.

See? everyone is queuing up for having breakfast there.
we waited for about 20 minutes to get in...

even the menu mentioned about its awards..
scared that you don't know about its 威水史...
but the menu looks so.... just a piece of paper, not even laminating it...

my breakfast, double smoked salmon with pouched eggs.

my morning coffee, mocha!

meeting up with Diyana is
the reason i wake up so early

Then also had steamboat at Jin's house for lunch which turn out to be teatime and ended during dinner time...

the hilly road from UQ to my ex-house..

too happy chatting and knowing new friends that i forget to take any picture..

it's more like a food trip after exams...

anw, after eating and spending money, it's time to prepare to New Zealand!

My 21 days tour to NZ!!!

will update for that soon... not sure how soon.....

可能P.M.S 了吧!!
