1. Round Mountain Scenic Lookout Point

- this is not the Round Mountain in NSW nor in US
- i guess its name comes from the view of many round-peak mountains from this point..

a preserved body of a Tasmanian Devil...
now u know how cold is the weather that a dead body can be preserved till so well..
we took this pic at the road side.. so there is no other preservative used...

2. Marakoopa Cave

- located in Mole Creek Karst National Park (we have been entering National Park since the 1st day in Tasmania..)
- 'Marakoopa' means handsome in Tasmanian Aboriginal language...
- this cave is not an isolated cave, but part of the vast karst landscape in Mole Creek area.. it has underground streams which provide a haven for the cave dwelling animals... including glow worms, cave spiders, etc...

took a pic with our tour guide..

some pictures of the limestone in the caves...

*of course i'm not describing the formation of these limestones...*

c the limestone i circled in red???
there are many skinny stalactites like this in the cave...
if they are touched, it might not only stop its growth but also destroy it....

i thought the whole piece of stalagmites look like shark fin..hehe..

这枝东东可是长得比我还高....
由于他的万年修行, 他是重点保护对象, 比其他的钟乳石更珍贵....
还特别有玻璃保护他不被破坏....

3. Cataract Gorge, Launceston

- it's a river gorge in Launceston

view of the gorge

picture taken on the Alexandra Suspension Bridge

the Alexandra Suspension Bridge

it's 308m central span is believed to be the longest chairlift in the world..
how honoured that i'm going to take the chairlift from
the First Basin to the idling station at Cliff Grounds site.

the swimming pool next to the First Basin..
pic taken on the chairlift

nah.. the chairlift...

the South Esk River and the Alexandra Suspension Bridge..
South Esk river is the longest river in Tasmania

we walk up to the hill to the Eagle Eyerie lookout point to have a full view of the gorge...

and see some animals along the way...cute animals..

the cutie echidna (针鼹鼠)

a kangaroo that ignored us

4. King's Bridge

- this bridge was completed in 1864, over 100 years of history..
- this beautifully iron arch bridge with a span of 60m is declared as a history marker of engineering..

5. Launceston City

our dinner...
Hainan chicken rice without Hainan chicken... =P

1. American Maritime Centre

2. Green Beach

- it's the ugliest beach i saw ever since i stepped on Tasmania... might be due to the greeny seaweed...

3. West Head Coastal Track Lookout Point

大风吹~~ 把头摇一摇~~~

4. Platypus House, Beauty Point

5. Seahorse House, Beauty Point

- we didnt go in, cz it's expensive and we think it's pointless.. so take a pic outside jiu can la...

6. Beaconsfield Mine and Heritage Centre

- it's actually a gold mine musuem which was built at this site since 1984 due to gold rush happened in Victoria...
- this musuem consists of many historical collection of Grubb Shaft Engine house..

different types of telephones!!

even the oldest type..

wah!! flying car!!! erm..truck?

there is a story of this interactive tunnel...
2 miners were trapped in the tunnel of the gold mine for 14 days when a rock collapsed..

7. Lavender Farm

8. Batman Bridge

- don't u think it looks like the shape of a bat???

the Batman Bridge is crossing Tamar River

obviously, NOT!!!!
it doesn't look like a bat at all.... and not batman also...
Batman Bridge is named after Batman... John Batman (not Bruce Wayne), the co-founder of Melbourne and also due to it's on Batman highway...

9. Low Head

The historical lighthouse

Lagoon bay

and then, we paid AUD10 for a penguin tour!!
this is a worthwhile tour... we get to take pic of the penguins, without flash of course, and get to go close to the penguins!!!

it's meifern and ang/xiao hong...
the penguin is walking to them!!
in normal case, the penguin will walk under their legs, but there is always something special happens on us..
the penguin STEPPED on xiao hong's shoe when it walk pass him... XD

orange light is OK for their eyes...
so no worries, the penguins will not be blinded!!

Wah!! take close pic with the Fairy Penguins????
it's real penguin....

once upon a time ago... it's now a patung...
worthy right??? u can take pic, u can go near them, no fences.....
and these penguins are the same as those we saw in Melbourne... but the fee is cheaper.. much cheaper..

*my post is getting lesser and lesser words... cz i'm lazier and lazier...*
